The new Zalando Headquarters is a duo of buildings located in Berlin, right next to the East Side Gallery, designed by HENN architectural studio. The complex provides 42,000 m² of space to accommodate up to 2,700 employees of Europe’s largest online supplier of shoes and fashion goods.
The lighting design was realized working closely with PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING, which provided several customized solutions. The vertical atrium in the main building opens into a space that extends to the full height of the building. This space is illuminated with luminaires SL764 and SL789 in a site-specific design solution, as a result, the lighting system is totally integrated in the building’s architecture.
In the office areas, SL713 pendant luminaires with presence detectors have been installed. Owing to the large amount of indirect light, this luminaire creates a very even light, significantly increasing employee well-being and efficiency. General lighting in the common areas is provided by downlight fittings such as the NV417 in the showroom.
All the luminaires are equipped with DALI control, allowing a high level offlexibility in creating different lighting moods.
