The unique complex of the Verkade factory in Zaandam, located on the Zaan, is a national monument. The complex became vacant in 2003 and was beautifully restored between 2004 and 2009 into a multifunctional multi-purpose building: De Zaanse Chocoladefabriek.
It now is accessible for the public and offers accommodation to cultural and creative Zaanse establishments. Such as Stichting FluXus, the Zaanse center for the arts. Here you can follow courses in the field of music, visual arts, media, theater and dance.
In close collaboration with Stichting FluXus, Caviro Elektro and the preservation commission, PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING created the lighting plan. SL629 suspended luminaires were chosen for the classrooms, studios and offices. The corridors are illuminated with SL764 suspended luminaires and in the foyer FOCUS+ 3 floodlights are used for indirect lighting.
