The European standard EN 60598-2-13 defines the areas suitable for installing in-ground luminaires according to the static load, the protrusion from the ground of the diffuser and the temperature of the diffuser itself. These luminaires make it possible to determine whether the luminaire is suitable for specific situations (transit of vehicles, pedestrian pathways, play area etc.). To facilitate luminaire selection, the following pages shows the code of the areas in which installation is permitted, according to the aforementioned standard and the technical specifications, for each individual product.
Installation area inaccessible to people and vehicles.
Static load (kN) | Height (mm) | Temperature (°C) |
(not applied) | (not applied) | (not applied) |
Installation area with limited access, for example areas for pedestrians only, cyclists only, etc., In no-passing areas, e.G. Near to walls, buildings, etc.
Static load (kN) | Height (mm) | Temperature (°C) |
≥ 5 kN | ≤ 5 mm / ≤ 25 mm | ≤ 100° C |
Installation area with limited access, for example areas for pedestrians only, cyclists only, etc.
Static load (kN) | Height (mm) | Temperature (°C) |
≥ 20 kN | ≤ 75 mm | ≤ 80° C |
Installation area accessible to snowplough vehicles or where anti-freeze agents are used, for example, near to walls, buildings, etc. In no-passing areas, e.G. Near to walls, buildings, etc.
Static load (kN) | Height (mm) | Temperature (°C) |
≥ 20 kN | ≤ 5 mm / ≤ 25 mm | ≤ 80° C |
For example children’s areas, swimming pools, in no-passing areas, e.G. Near to walls, buildings, etc. Where temperatures can cause wounds.
Static load (kN) | Height (mm) | Temperature (°C) |
≥ 5 kN | ≤ 5 mm / ≤ 25 mm | ≤ 40 °C |
