The comings and goings of holidaymakers on summer evenings are a feature of the Avenida de Andalucía, a street surrounding the center of the seaside town of Estepona, in the western part of the Costa del Sol in Andalusia.
The recent public lighting renovation makes for summer evenings that can be more safely enjoyed. The installation of dozens of THEOS GLASS luminaires with a wide variety of available optics has made it possible to illuminate different contexts such as streets, seaside promenades, pedestrian areas, squares and green areas. The LEDs used with all products installed offer sustainability with lower management and maintenance costs thanks to the long life of the light sources.
Estepona was one of the first Andalusian seaside resorts to be discovered by tourists. More than 50 years after the arrival of the first vacationers and despite tourist development, it has managed maintain the charm of a historic city with ancient origins dating back to the Moorish occupation of the fourth century. Today the historic centre is a labyrinth of narrow and steep pedestrian streets adorned with flowered balconies reminiscent the most authentic Andalusian pueblos blancos.
