On May 21st at the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the awards ceremony for the nine winners of the 4th edition of the international video contest “Riprenditi la città, Riprendi la luce” was held. The review of short films, which title in English would be “Take back the city, Record the light”, was organised and promoted by AIDI.
The contest was also organised thanks to the fundamental contribution of PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING, which believes firmly in the role of culture for the growth of new generations.
Nine young artists were selected out of the 19 videos selected as finalists, and PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING had the honour of awarding the jury’s special prize, “Educare alla cultura” (Education for Culture).
The work was titled “Spazio senza luce” (Space Without Light) by Gueorgui Boyanov Djarov, aged 26 from Pazardzhik (Bulgaria) and a student at the Turin Polytechnic University. It expressed the concept that “Space without light does not exist, like silence without noise”.
